After years of frequent moves following her mother’s death, Chloe Saunders’s life is finally settling down. She is attending art school, pursuing her dreams of becoming a director, making friends, and meeting boys. Her biggest concern is that she’s not developing as fast as her friends are. But when puberty does hit, it brings more than hormone surges. Chloe starts seeing ghosts–everywhere, demanding her attention. After she suffers a breakdown, her devoted aunt Lauren gets her into a highly recommended group home.
At first, Lyle House seems a pretty okay place, except for Chloe’s small problem of fearing she might be facing a lifetime of mental illness. But as she gradually gets to know the other kids at the home–charming Simon and his ominous, unsmiling brother Derek, obnoxious Tori, and Rae, who has a “thing” for fire–Chloe begins to realize that there is something that binds them all together, and it isn’t your usual “problem kid” behaviour. And together they discover that Lyle House is not your usual group home either…

Great book. Only a few minor problems. 4 Stars!
Characters: The characters were really great! I only really had problems with Rae and Chloe. I felt Chloe was too naive and it felt like she was just a spoiled girl that thought that she could do whatever she wanted and that really annoyed me. Rae I didn't like because I felt she was just too desperate to fit in and that she was really stubborn. Other than them I liked all the others even the bad characters I just loved to hate them. Another thing I liked about the characters is that you never really knew who was good and who was bad. I also liked to find out about their different powers. Most characters were really realistic. And I could relate to them a lot. I also liked that the character wasn't invinsible.
Plot: The plot was nothing how I expected it to be. It was full of surprising twists and turns and I never knew what would happen next. Though I thought the powers that the kids had were a little disappointing. I hoped that the powers would be more original. I was also sad because I thought that I finally found a book that didn't have a werewolf in it, but it did. I liked atmosphere of the book. In the beginning it was really spooky that it gave goosebumps. The pace was very good. Not too fast and not too slow. I didn't really like the writing style because it too simple to plain but after a while I got used to it.
Overall: Overall I really liked this book and if it weren't for the writing style, some characters, and the originality I would've given it five stars. It DID however contain hints to sexual stuff and some bad words so I wouldn't recommend this to children under the age of 13. Unless you're mature.

Thank you! And yes I completely loved Derek too but you know I wasn't expecting it and its not that I don't love Vampires and Werewolves its just that I think authors might have overdone it. But it was still a good book. And thanks for the advice, I'll definately do that :D
