Review: Fallen by Lauren Kate

Seventeen-Year-Old Luce is a new student at Sword & Cross, an unwelcoming boarding/reform school in Savannah, Georgia. Luce’s boyfriend died under suspicious circumstances, and now she carries the guilt over his death with her as she navigates the unfriendly halls at Sword & Cross, where every student seems to have an unpleasant—even evil—history. It's only when she sees Daniel that her life looks a little better. But Daniel has a secret which will put their lives in danger...

Characters: The characters was my least favorite part of the book for me. I hated all of them. They got on my nerves and I frankly didn't care about any of them or what happened to them. I liked the main character though. But sometimes she seemed a bit selfish. However I did start to like the characters later on....in the last 20 pages! There was little character development and to me this is what really brought down the story.

Plot: The plot was very interesting and full of mystery and suspence that kept me reading until the last page, I loved how fascinating and unique this story was and I was left surprised in all the chapters as Lauren Kate reveals little by little the story. It is a dark story but not so that it will keep you up at night. I hated putting this book down, it was so addicting! The writing style was beautiful! I loved it, just the right amount of discription. And a lot of new creatures that were very creative.

Overall: Overall this book was really good. I would reccomend it. But the thing that brought it down a few stars and for that reason I am giving it 3 stars is the characters. Absolutely horrific, but I hope in the next installment everything is better. Sorry for the short review, promise next time I'll try to make it larger ;)
