Review: The Maze Runner by James Dashner

When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his first name. He has no recollection of his parents, his home, or how he got where he is. His memory is empty. But he's not alone. When the lift's doors open, Thomas finds himself surrounded by kids who welcome him to the Glade, a large expanse enclosed by stone walls.

Just like Thomas, the Gladers don't know why or how they got to the Glade. All they know is that every morning, for as long as anyone can remember, the stone doors to the maze that surrounds them have opened. Every night, for just as long, they've closed tight. Every thirty days a new boy is delivered in the lift. And no one wants to be stuck in the Maze after dark.

The Gladers were expecting Thomas' arrival. But the next day, a girl is sent up- the first girl ever to arrive at the Glade. And more surprising yet is the message she delivers. The Gladers have always been convinced that if they can solve the maze that surrounds the Glade, they might find their way home... wherever that may be. But it's looking more and more as if the Maze is unsolvable.

And something about the girl's arrival is starting to make Thomas feel different. Something is telling him that he just might have some answers- if he can only find a way to retrieve the dark secrets locked within his own mind.

A luxurious house, fancy private school, a new wardrobe, the promise of college and a future—it's a dream come true. So why is Ruby such a reluctant Cinderella, wary and defensive? Review: City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

When Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder. Much less a murder commited by three teenagers covered with odd markings. This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons-and keeping the odd werewolves and vampires in line. It's also her first meeting with gorgeous, golden-haired Jace. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in an ordinary mundane like Clary? And how did she suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know....

Review: The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

Standing on the fringes of life... offers a unique perspective. But there comes a time to see what it looks like from the dance floor.

This haunting novel about the dilemma of passivity vs. passion marks the stunning debut of a provocative new voice in contemporary fiction: The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

This is the story of what it's like to grow up in high school. More intimate than a diary, Charlie's letters are singular and unique, hilarious and devastating. We may not know where he lives. We may not know to whom he is writing. All we know is the world he shares. Caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it puts him on a strange course through uncharted territory. The world of first dates and mixed tapes, family dramas and new friends. The world of sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, when all one requires is that perfect song on that perfect drive to feel infinite.

Through Charlie, Stephen Chbosky has created a deeply affecting coming-of-age story, a powerful novel that will spirit you back to those wild and poignant roller coaster days known as growing up.

Review: The Summoning by Kelly Armstrong

After years of frequent moves following her mother’s death, Chloe Saunders’s life is finally settling down. She is attending art school, pursuing her dreams of becoming a director, making friends, and meeting boys. Her biggest concern is that she’s not developing as fast as her friends are. But when puberty does hit, it brings more than hormone surges. Chloe starts seeing ghosts–everywhere, demanding her attention. After she suffers a breakdown, her devoted aunt Lauren gets her into a highly recommended group home.

At first, Lyle House seems a pretty okay place, except for Chloe’s small problem of fearing she might be facing a lifetime of mental illness. But as she gradually gets to know the other kids at the home–charming Simon and his ominous, unsmiling brother Derek, obnoxious Tori, and Rae, who has a “thing” for fire–Chloe begins to realize that there is something that binds them all together, and it isn’t your usual “problem kid” behaviour. And together they discover that Lyle House is not your usual group home either…

Review: Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

the cold.
Grace has spent years watching the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—watches back. He feels deeply familiar to her, but she doesn't know why.

the heat.
Sam has lived two lives. As a wolf, he keeps the silent company of the girl he loves. And then, for a short time each year, he is human, never daring to talk to Grace...until now.

the shiver.
For Grace and Sam, love has always been kept at a distance. But once it's spoken, it cannot be denied. Sam must fight to stay human—and Grace must fight to keep him—even if it means taking on the scars of the past, the fragility of the present, and the impossibility of the future.

Questions from Book- Marks the Spot

    1. How long have you been blogging?
I've been blogging for 3 months now. It hasnt been long but its been great so far!

2.Why did you want to start blogging?
Well I've been watching a lot of YouTube videos for a while now and a lot of my favorite Booktubers have blogs so I decided that I should get one to and see where it takes me.

    3.Where are you from?
     I'm from the USA

    4.What is your favorite movie?
My favorite movie changes, it always is the last movie I saw. So the last movie I remember seeing and loving is Snow White & The Huntsman

5.What are your hopes from your blog?
My hopes for my blog is that it gets popular and if it doesn't I might start making Book videos on YouTube and start from there.

    6.What are you afraid of?
Heights, I'm afraid of a lot more things but the biggest thing on the list is definately Heights.

7.How did you come up with the name of your blog?
Well it's actually my goodreads name. Little_miss_book_freak. And the reason I chose it is because I'm Little, both in my height and my age, I'm a girl so Miss, and I'm a huge book freak. So I put those together and to give it a sense of uniqness I put the _'s.

8.If you could have one super power what would it be and why?
Well I've been asked these before my various friends and I always cheated by saying more than one but I'll try to say one today. I would have to say Flight. For many reasons but by saying one is, imagine you need to get out of someplace fast. You would need to fly if there wasnt a Taxi or a Bus around. And if you can fly couldn't you have control of air? Alright so I cheated by saying 2 but you get my jist.

9.Who is you favorite book crush?
Hands down Varen Nethers from Nevermore by Kelly Creagh. He has that mysterious boy with the dark edge to him, that I love! He's also not afraid to speak his mind and doesnt care what others think of him and once you get to know him he is really sweet and protective of you.

10.Do you review every book you read?
On my blog, yes I do. Well so far at least, that might stop though. I'm not sure but on my goodreads account I sometimes just rate the books but dont review them.

11.How many books do you plan to read this year?
Well my original plan was 20 but I was really ahead so I pushed it up to 30. But considering that I already read 22 I might push it to 40 or 50.

Review: When Lightning Strikes by Meg Cabot

Just because her best friend wants to exercise, Jessica Mastriani agrees to walk the two miles home from their high school. Straight into a huge Indiana thunderstorm -- and straight into trouble.
Not that Jess has never been in trouble before. Her extracurricular activities, instead of cheerleading or 4-H, include fistfights with the football team and monthlong stints in detention -- luckily, sitting right next to Rob, the sexiest senior around. But this trouble is serious.
Because somehow on that long walk home, Jessica acquired a newfound talent. An amazing power that can be used for good...or for evil.
